The idea here is to ceremonial memorialize rebellion and anti-Christian sentiment, making it religious in a pagan way. Even unbelievers can crave ceremony and liturgy, but Baptism is God’s work that cannot be undone, anymore than we can go back and redo our first birth. Thankfully, God still calls to repentance—He wants all sinners to turn to their baptism and receive His life. Christ cannot be undone. His Baptism stands and brings the salvation He won for all despite man’s sins and unbelief. “There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” (Eph. 4:4-6). —ed.
In Catholic Italy,‘de-baptism’ is gaining popularity
