Contemplating a Presidential Proclamation Designating “Gluttony Month” & “Sloth Month”

In general, presidential proclamations are a cheap political gimmick. When the chief executive designates the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day that is a cost-free public relations stunt which shoves up approval ratings and provides feel-good vibes to a select group. No harm done… right? However, a presidential proclamation could be used to celebrate and encourage something which is not desirable. Under those circumstances it would seem that in a democracy the people should be ready to impose a political penalty on leadership which goes astray. We must stringently oppose politicians who make wrong-headed proclamations in order to cater to a deviant splinter group.

Since 1999 a presidential proclamation by William Clinton designated June, “Pride Month.” At the most superficial level, why would we want to celebrate one of the seven cardinal vices? Recollect that pridegreedwrathenvylustgluttony and sloth are known as the seven deadly sins. These are behaviors which society would do well to discourage. If we have a “Pride Month,” then should we also have a “Gluttony Month” and a “Sloth Month?” Should not our leaders be cautious in deciding what behavior to encourage by proclamation?

When we look more closely at President Clinton’s 1999 proclamation we should be further dismayed. That presidential proclamation established June as gay and lesbian Pride Month.  These two adjectives describing the Pride to be celebrated in June are synonymous with another undesirable type of conduct defined as the abomination of sodomy. If we take words at their plain meaning, without being mislead by euphemisms, the presidential proclamation of 1999 encouraged the sin of pride associated with the abominable homosexual act. This slap in the face of established morality came more than a decade before President Barak Hussein Obama declared the United States not to be a Christian country. Is there a trend here?

On May 31, 2024, President Joseph Biden issued a further presidential proclamation as follows: “I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR.,… by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2024 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month.  I call upon the people of the United States to recognize the achievements of the LGBTQI+ community,..” Significantly this adds additional deviant types of behavior for which our president encourages pride. We can extrapolate that the “+” signifies that America is to celebrate pedophile and necrophile pride, as well.

I reject President Biden’s proclamation and the similar unwarranted proclamations of his predecessors which encourage sin and celebrate abomination. The Constitution and the laws of the United States vested no authority in the chief executive to fly in the face of believing citizens and to disavow their Creator.

May I propose a Declaration in opposition to the proclamations of usurpers in Washington D.C.

“If a martian landed in America and set out to determine the nation” official state religion, he would have to conclude it is liberalism, while Christianity and Judaism are prohibited by law. Many Americans are outraged by liberal hostility to traditional religion. But as Ann Coulter reveals in this, her most explosive book yet, to focus solely on the Left’s attacks on our Judeo-Christian tradition is to miss a larger point: liberalism is a religion-a godless one. And it is now entrenched as the state religion of this county. Though liberalism rejects the idea of God and reviles people of faith, it bears all the attributes of a religion. In Godless, Coulter throws open the doors of the Church of Liberalism, showing us its sacraments (abortion), its holy writ (Roe v. Still, liberals treat those who question evolution as religious heretics and prohibit students from hearing about real science when it contradicts Darwinism. And these are the people who say they want to keep faith out of the classroom? Liberals’ absolute devotion to Darwinism, Coulter shows, has nothing to do with evolution’s scientific validity and everything to do with its refusal to admit the possibility of God as a guiding force. They will brook no challenges to the official religion.
