As I wrote in my published article, Woke Dysphoria at Concordia, the Wokeism at our LCMS Concordias is “a potent cocktail of Progressivism, Neo-Pragmatism, and Marxism.”

Just a few months ago The Federalist reported that the Woke Marxist apparatus remains in place at Concordia University Wisconsin.

As Prof John McWhorter has pointed out, Woke Marxism is a religion from which we must protect our sons and daughters.

Yet another academic year is upon us, but no Concordia university president or board has repudiated Woke Marxism. No Concordia faculty as a whole or academic dean / provost has unequivocally repudiated Woke Marxism, for that matter.
So how can you tell for yourself (or for your college-bound son or daughter) if a university department or professor, for example at a Concordia university — is Woke and Marxist; or is truly biblical and confessional in his teaching?
Here’s how:
Ask for a written / emailed response to these three questions from your (potential) professors:
#1 — Do you utilize the thoughts of Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Paulo Freire, or Derrick Bell in any of your courses or professional writings? Why is that, exactly?
#2 — Have you repudiated the thoughts of Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Paulo Freire, or Derrick Bell in any of your courses or professional writings? Why is that, exactly?
#3 — Where in your courses and professional writings do you specifically apply Colossians 2:8-9 to the thoughts and ideas of theorists who adapt and adopt the writings and ideas of Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Paulo Freire, or Derrick Bell?
Accept no non-answers. You deserve to know what each of your professors is professing. You’re investing a ton of time and money and trust, after all.
[Optional — Do you, Professor, support the punishment of a professor who publishes professional and theological criticisms of an LCMS university administration and board that adapts and / or adopts the writings and ideas of Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Paulo Freire, or Derrick Bell? Why is that your position, exactly?]
NOTE For your own thinking and evaluation of courses and academic programs at contemporary religious universities (such as our LCMS Concordias, for example) have a good look at Christopher Rufo’s book, as well as Psalm 1 and Psalm 119.
